I am about to treat the GN to it's first set of new pads. Any merit to upgrading to fully synthetic fluid or should I stick with the old Dot 3. I'm still running the powermaster. Tkanks

Normal or synthetic doesn't really matter with brake fluid. What matters is boiling point. It just so happens that the synthetics sold in the stores have higher boiling points that the conventionals. High temp conventional does exist, but it is harder to find.

I use the Valvoline sythetic in my Buick. The wet boiling point is 50 or 60 degrees higher than the best conventional they sold the last time I stood there and read labels.

DOT 3, 4, and 5.1 are interchangable. Do not use DOT 5.
