I would wait a couple of oil changes before making the switch. This is a heavily debated topic and you will get widely varied opinions, to say the least.

What is not good about synthetic oils for turbo Buicks?

i say it is not good for breakin. because the syn. keeps the rings from sealing fully. i use cheap 10 30 for breakin change then 10 30 for a week change then comes the syn. thats what i do and have never a problem never well as far as lubrications go ;)

I would not use syn for breakin either, but other than that, I swear by it.
On the other hand, other people swear by dino oil, too.

the only oil that I was told to use is shell's rottella 15w 40 non syn it is made for deisl trucks and its way cheaper than sny oils and better.

I go about 1500 miles before switching. I use 30 non detergent for an easy driven 500 miles, then high detergent diesel grade (suitable for spark ignition engines!) oil for a 1000. Then on to Mobil 1.

I would not say that it is bettter than synthetics, for other than 1 specific purpose: I have heard from several sources, and on this board, too, that on a motor that has a slight knock or piston slap, especially at fire-up, it will make the knock/piston slap go away.
