T-top Map Lights

who has made them? If i remember, there was a thread about someone who had fabed up a nice light set from an s10 and put them on a t-top car.

Rear View Mirror- Compass/Temp Conversion
Gentek 31 Compass/Temp mirror
Check under Gentek or Donnelly mirror and should be able to find some info.
Usually found in various Caprice, Impala SS, Roadmaster, etc.

these were map lights, i think a member did a how-to on how he did it, just dont remember who.

I stripped a 86 /442 that had some in it and dont know how they got there and never seen another set up like it. I still have it at my garage i believe

if you want to get really goofy, you could take the map light out of a mid 80's Mustang.. they had a goofy thing that looked like a flashlight that you could point wherever you wanted.

another option would be the entire overhead console out of a mid 80's Camaro. my 86 Camaro is a t Top car (booo) and has a console up there that goes all the way from the windshield back to the middle of the roof, with the dome light built in. it's mission on mine, but there is supposed to be a map light towards the front of it that you can aim wherever you need the light.. plus, there is a useless and weird counter thing up there that you can set for various things that looks like it would be a nifty place to mount a Scanmaster with a little fab work..

Our company used to sell the kit complete with harness. Mirror with map lites came out of I think a later GM car....no longer can get them Caspers made the harness for us since unit took a very mini plug which would splice into the factory wire.

They were not cheap since they were brand new...think we sold them for $99 a kit. So, some GM cars had a set up like you are seeking but I don;t member which car(s) they came in.

Picked one up for 15 bucks awhile ago from ebay... think it was out of an S10, works fine.
