Is this a hypothetical question or are you looking for someone that's actually tried both of them?

That would be a large amount of money for those 2 turbos. :eek:

I don't run in any TSM class, so rules mean nothing to me, I am all about the et and mph. I was thinking of selling my T72BB for a GTQ71 and basically wanted to know if I would pick up because its more efficient earlier in my power band then my 72, or if it wouldn't make a difference.
 
I of course have not had either of these turbos, but

Turbo vendors have said the PT67 is the T70 of old. I would imagine that the GTQ71 would go WAY past the T72 turbos flow.

The PT67 with the p trim is rated 700-750 hp at the wheels.
PTQ67 is rated 760-815 to the wheels.

The Q makes a huge difference in power!!

well, all D!ck did to go from 10.3's to 9.8's is replace his BB70 with the 70GTQ so I would say they have a little kick (much better than a 72)

some have said 70 hp over a 70......I believe it
 
So is the tsm turbo called the 70GTQ or the 71GTQ.
Are you guys running the ported shroud?

Sorry Woody, but thats a crock, not looking to nor will I get in a pissing contest here,. but there is a lot more to what he did than just change turbos, get it straight......... hate to be blunt, but that statement is downright misleading and just not true.

...it isn't a "crock"....I admit he prolly had a better tune on the FAST than he had before, but as far as hardware, the only change was the turbo

No innuendos there, I said it straight out, with no BS attidude. I'm sorry if you don't appreciate it, unfortunately misleading the truth of the situation is just plain wrong.......

Thats all I have to say........... period. Not looking to open a can of worms here, just don't feel this topic is being accurately discussed since NOONE has indisputable evidence. I'd be the first to say it if there was.

BTW, I happen to be a good friend of D!ck's ......... he was out of sight for a few days, but all he changed was the turbo and program from the Regional meet we were at the week before....where he ran 10.4's on a rotten tune

BTW, I have his "old" BB70 on my car now
 
not trying to start anything

but i also know for a fact that the turbo and a few ve cells was the only change on dic's car. i was there helping because hey! i was just in the neighborhood :eek:

Wonder if he changed the boost level too. :)

well, salvage, I dunno what your point is, but my point is the GTQ turbo added a lot to the car (and I am not selling anything)

.5 is a lot for the changes that were made, considering the best time at this track was 10.4 in the past (and believe me, there have been hundreds of passes on this car at this track)

simple logic tells me this turbo is better

the jury is still out on the BB70 (D!ck's old turbo) I have on my car now......so far, I like the TE-45A I had before better!

BTW, the boost level is rather irrelevant on cars like this......the gauge is pegged

Now that you got the tuning down with a different FAST program swap the other one back. :)

How's that for simpler logic and no confusion, only a more valid test.

I might even believe the results and I've got nothing to sell or buy. :cool:
 
so, what is your point?

the car went faster with a different turbo...not just a little bit faster, but a whole lot faster....like many HP faster.....

it takes a few more HP to go from 10.3 @ 130 to 9.8 @ 136 wouldn't you reckon?

that isn't just a tune up..........and he wasn't trying to go slow before.......

so I reiterate...what is your point?
