I am looking at putting a TA-33 turbo on my 85 gn if i was to stay at 15 PSI of boost would i be okay until i was able to afford new injectors and a chip to go with that?

TA-33

Thats the turbo I have on my car.

I upgraded to blue tops (36 lbs) and the Caspers UltraChip.
Great turbo IMO.

Not too sure you want to run that turbo hard without upgrading the injectors too. Dont wanna chance leaning out the motor. I mean, you have the turbo off - might as well do the inj too.

I bought mine used - pretty cheap - the had them cleaned and flow tested at a local shop.

You're fine with the stock injectors assuming they're clean and flowing ok. They're the same ones as the 86-87 cars which can be pushed to mid 12s. Do you have a fuelpump and hotwire kit yet? If you can only do one at a time, get the FP before injectors.

Once you have the money to upgrade injectors, go to at least the 009s (42.5lb) so you have plenty headroom for future mods. They're cheap, idle perfect, pass CA emissions just fine and will go pretty far into the 11s. As long as the chip is programmed for the injectors and the mods your car has (airflow) they won't run too rich.

i have a hotwire kit on it from when i bought it im not sure if the guy put a new fuel pump in it though, i dropped the tank but it could just be an interal pump upgrade, im assuming i do because he also put a billet ajustable fuel pres. regulator and guage on it, but i will check some time just to be sure. what do you think the max amount of boost i should run with it is, just go until i have knock, then back it down?

As long as you monitor knock, you should be ok. I've never been able to lean one of these things out enough to hurt it without getting knock. You can watch your 02s and make sure they don't suddenly drop off but they're only a ballpark guess. I lost faith in stock 02 readings when we put the car on the dyno. The stock 02 said the car was running lean (700mv) but in reality it was off the charts rich according to the dyno's wideband 02. Picked up nearly 100rwhp and tq just from leaning it out.
