Ta-33c Rebuild Worth it?

Looking for anyone who has gotten one of these rebuilds done. I have a stock 85 that i plan on doing the usual to with injectors and porting and such.....just want to know if it would be better to just buy a bigger turbo. And if so what would you suggest!??!!?? Thanks for the help from a new GN owner!

the TA-33 is about your only option out there. i would either send yours off and have it made to a ta-33 or get one already done. not sure on the price difference.

I can help with this one. I paid $939 for Limit Engineering to upgrade the stock 84/85 turbo to a TA33c. Two years later the compressor blades were all chipped up. I do not drag race.

Sent the TA33C to Precision Turbo for a rebuild at a cost of $291. I have not heard from them for two weeks. This is their slow time so I will call them tomorrow. Brad

Did limited just upgrade it or did you have it stuffed? You are very limited on what you can do with a hot air for a turbo.

What do you mean by stuffed? Probably not-I beleive it is a TA49 compressor in a stock housing. Let me know. Thanks- Brad
