I am putting together a TA block and I noticed it does not have a provision for the dip stick. Has anyone incountered this problem and figured out a solution?
Thanks,
Jeff

You will need to get a custom pan or weld a pick up point on a stock one.Scott

Great, I just put the motor in the car today. I took it for granted that it had an opening!

Jeff,

When you get a chance may I hear about your new combination?
Thanks in advance!

Bore - 3.940"
Pistons- CP 8.1:1
Rods - 6.3" Crower
Crank - 3.625" Crower (Internal balance 50%)
Cam - Comp solid roller 224/224 duration 540" lift. 1.55 T&D's
Heads - TA with bee hive Comp springs (1.94 intake 1.60" exhaust)
BGC intake
83# injectors with a batch FAST
Innovative turbo 74mm Q trim with .81 housing
Trans.- 200 4R with Art Carr 9" non lockup 3800 stall
Machine work - Kenny D.
I did the assembly
Issues with the block - Rear main had too much interferance
with side of the block and had to be machined and line honed.
Had to clearance the back wall of the block to get the counterweight to clear. Cylinders needed to be notched for the rod bolts.
Driver side lifter bore was not drilled completly through to the oil passage. I found this just prior to installing the intake and after priming the oil on the stand; so the engine needed to be disassembled, drilled and recleaned.

Jeff how about motor mount alignment ? I thought I heard of a problem in that area also? Something about the block dimensions being a little different ?

Lou, so far the alignment is fine. Cal is correct with the motor mounts;they fit perfect but for $450 I would expect nothing less!
