My new stainless TA headers came this week and my project this weekend was to get them on and back together.

After reading all the threads on here I can say the problems noted earlier are fixed. The flanges are flat and smooth. Ports looked nice (no pics sorry). I did have problems with the brake line on the passenger side (going to fix that today)

The biggest problem was the starter. Mine was a remanufactured starter from a local parts warehouse from 10 years ago. When I put it on I noted that the motor was bigger in diameter than stock and the solenoid was a bit bigger as well. I took it off to put the PS side on and it won't fit back in there. No problem. That cheap rebuilt sounded horrible and I've wanted a mini-starter for a while.

Anyone have any clearance problems with the mini-starters? Ones to avoid.

I don't know about the mini starters but the duralast ones from autozone are the same as stock. (at least mine is) Also, you're going to have to shim the starter or it's going to sound terrible no matter what kind you get.
