Tach and boost question

When i start my car the tach gives full light lumination as though its at its peak in rpm. And at the same time my boost meter does not register anything. Any sugestions?

That issss interesting. My rpm gauge reads around 2k at idle. Im guessing thats because of this issue. When I stomp on the gas when in park, the boost will jump up to maybe 5psi or something, is that correct?

I had this cluster sent to me with the 87 engine that I bought, and my old(84) cluster didnt read high like this one. Can I just take the board out of the 84 cluster and stick it in the 87 cluster???? Are they the same?
