tach question

[85 T-type]

My factory tach reads about 2000 rpm higher than my new VDO tach. Is this normal? Is anyone elses this far off?

Mine is about 800-900 rpm off. Factory gauge isn't very reliable.

That's in Eric Juengling's '86 GN, his car is one of a few "rolling advertisements" for my stuff! Since the tach/boost is so basically useless, he thought of the "fun meter" idea--I couldn't think of any numbers that would mean anything, so I just put on smiley faces! I came up with the "g-force" meter...obviously THOSE numbers aren't correct, but they're probably as accurate as the boost gauge!
