Gents,

Chris here. Looking for the tach signal wire on our cars. Everybody is saying that it is a white wire with a green plug located behind the alternator but these are guys who have 86-87 GNs and their alternators are on the opposite side of the motor. Where do you guys hook your tach signal wire up at? Is there anywhere I can tie into the coil pack harness or the ECU itself? Let me know guys!

Thanks,

Chris

i think one of the terminals on the ALDL plug under the dash is a tach signal.

Chris,

Under the coil pack there is a bright green connector. When I had my hot air that is the wire I used for the signal.

A bright green connector under the coil pack? What color is the actual wire? I am going to have to search for this wire...

Chris

Watching this thread closely...need to fix my stock tach or install a new one. I will have the same ?'s. My stock one reads 2700rpm at idle and redlined at 35 mph.
