Tach signal wire

Where is everyone hooking up their signal wire for their aftermarket tach? Also where should I run the wire through the firewall?

Hook it to the white wire with a green connector behind the alternator. Feed the wire through the hole with the speedometer cable.

Hey, I ran my tach signal off my ECM. I tapped into the spark control signal. I believe it is a white wire. That way you don't have to run it through the firewall. I have had mine connected there since 96 and no issues. Plus it is just as accurate as the other ways.
