I'll say!
Actually I was looking at this engine trying to figure out how it could have hemi heads with the spark plugs in that location. I'm guessing those are wedges. If I had to guess I'd say that was an experiment using big block style stagered valves on a small block. Chevy tried it again in the 90's on some over the counter cylinder heads. They didn't work in NASCAR but were quite successful in open road racing.

welllll...showing my age but it didn't seem bad to me "IF" ya had to have something like that  rarer than chicken lips  If ya look at this old pic you can see Shelby GT 500 2/4 set up's.. I had prob 25 complete set ups at one time .. back in 1980 I had a clean out .. sold a lot of junk for big $$$ back then ..intake (bare) ..$500  427 Cobra valve covers ..$500 (both guys still have them today !!) ... so its just a matter of what someone wants .. now who would want an ol Buick GN ???? 99% of the world would say NO :p

I've seen those heads (in REAL old magazines). They actually do have a hemi shape, it's just the spark plugs aren't in the center, but rather off to one side (seems odd, but true).

They had an article about them in an issue of HotRod or something....they were shwoing off an Z-28 RS Hemi(I think that was the one), yellow w/ black stripes. It was pretty cool.
