I have a generic Superchip in my 87 GN. I have had some people tell me to take it out, that its doing more harm than good. Is this true, and should I take it out and put in the stock chip? I've heard Jay Carter and Jim Testa chips are some of the best. Where can I get one of these? Thanks

Yes, you need to get a real chip. Back when I first got my GN I contacted hyper-crap and got a chip for mine too. This was before I ever logged onto the internet so I thought it was all that there was. Pretty much ANY chip from a vendor on here will be MUCH better than hyper-crap. I doubt they ever even saw a TR let alone test their chips in one.....

Call Cottons Performance, 413-789-0531, and get everything you need through him. His prices are great and his customer service is even better! You won't be disappointed.

Its true that Hypertech's chips are NOT at the top of the chip food chain but the owner is a GN fanatic. He has a GN and a GNX. At least he did back in the late 80's

You can start out with a Thrasher for $25 dollars. It's been awhile since I used their street chip, but I did just use their 97 octance chip and liked it. Also check the parts for sale, there is usually a good vendor chip for sale for around $25 to $35. And Cottons is good too, I have bought other stuff from him. He would give you good advice along with the purchase.
