anyone got any pics of either of these wires installed ?
hows the lengths on these ?

looking for a new set of plug wires & its probably going to be one of these.

I've had BOTH (409 & Thundervolt) and they are both good. Fit is good too!...I changed from 409's to Thundervolt's just because I wanted black instead of blue...

Claude. :)

thanks...funny, those are the my 2 choices too..

I have blue 8mm wires on my car now, but I think I will go with the black..

I got Thundervolts on my car and fit is great.

About the only good picture illustrating plug wires, sorry.

Claude they look great. My wife got me the thundervolts for my birthday because I wanted a black wire too!

I'm running the Thundervolts as well. They look and fit great. I'll post a pic if them this evening.

You can buy the cut to fit accels for about $30 at autozone. Don't know if they have anything other than yellow but is the color worth $50?

If it is the ones I am thinking of, I think they are worth the difference in price. The taylormade's are spiral wound with a very good resistance rating of 50 ohms per foot, they are also heat resistant to 600*F.

The Accel's have the carbon/graphite conductor and are not spiral wound. Even Accel's spiral wound wires, which are better than the do it your selfers, have a resistance of 150 ohms per foot. The Accel's only withstand 450*F.

I could see if you want the color or like the fit and don't want to cut your own but the whole ohms per foot thing is pure bunk. I mean, assume that during ionization you have zero resitance across the gap. That would mean that at 20,000 vdc (ohms apply to direct current) you would have about 67 amps. I don't think our coils can push that. Even if they could that would put the power in the wire at about 1,340,000 watts. Considering a 100 watt bulb runs at around 200 F I don't think a temp rating of 600F will handle this. The point of all this? Don't let a plug wire manufacturer sell you on the idea that ohms matter. If that were the case they would wrap a 10 awg piece of wire in insulation and everyone would be making lots more power because the wires would have like .01 ohms per foot. It's all about impedance which is frequency sensitive. If you have good wires I'd say leave em' and spen $80 on something else you want for the car. Or beer. $80 will buy you 6 30 packs of Natural Light. That's allot of good dart time and bench racing!

It is clear you know more about electrical theory than I do, wont argue that with you. The difference in price is roughly $50. They are 10.4 mm thick, more heat resistant and conduct electricity better. I'd rather pay for something once, even if it costs more, have it perform better, and last longer for the difference in $50.

Not to go off subject but Claude those valve covers look awsome

"87granny", thanks for the nice comment about the valve covers... However, I don't have these anymore because they were specifically made for the M&A heads (with center hold down bolts) I had at the time, and when I sold the heads to to a friend (who's also a member on this board) the covers were part of the deal. I now have some Champion GN1R heads with some "Cotton's Performance" valve covers...

Claude. :)

got a part number for these ?

Man I JUST threw the box away that I had kept here right by the computer for so long, I figured i'd right the # down then throw the box away but now don't know where I put the #

I do know I was just browsing ebay one day, they were NEW in the box, they are 10mm and they were only $30 so I jumped all over them.
if anything come up i'll let you know. OK found something< 79023 (84-85) 79024 (86-87) same wire... the "0" represents black.
