awhile back i posted a thread on how my tranny would run through the gears to 4th gear.and when i would slow down it spuddered.i was told it was the tcc selinoid.i bought one but top driving the car never put it in.sooo how hard is it to change the tcc selinoid

1-Pull up on ramps.

2-drain the tranny pan /its a mess if you dont already have a drain hole on the pan which you dont if its stock.

3-once the fluids drained. remove pan. its right up by the torque converter area youll see it. its going into the tranny pump up front by the fly wheel , it has 2 wires on it should be red/black , but could be other colors ,

4-you have to decide if your gonna cut/splice with butt connectors or remove the 2 wires all together back to the wiring harness. if you do that just make sure the color matches. or put black on black in the same exact spot it came out of. (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE TIGHT CONNECTIONS) Even thought its only 2 wires.:)

its very easy to remove the only thing holding it up is 2 10mm bolts.

Then decide what your gonna do about the wiring method the cut & splice is the quickest, have to use a good set of crimpers to connect them with the butt connectors.

then get back together, buy you a new tranny pan gasket , change the filter while your in there & put everything back with new fluid you should be done.;)

It's pretty easy. Drop the pan. Remove filter. Solenoid is located in the front right corner of the trans. Remove two 10mm hex bolts that hold the solenoid in. Pull straight down on the solenoid to remove it. Depending of what brand of solenoid you bought you may have to cut the wires at the solenoid to splice in the new one. Make sure you get the polarity right. Stock replacements come with the wiring. Read the instructions that came with the solenoid if it is aftermarket. Plug new solenoid into pump. Install the 2 retaining bolts. Install filter. Put pan back on. Put fluid in.

thanks alot.sounds easy enough.now next question.raplacing the filter,i heard to replace it with a 700r-4 filter is that true or false and if true whats the benifits of doing so,and will it fit. the tranny fluid; what do you guys recommend.i dont know if it been rebuilt or all stock ,should i put any additive in thank.

If your pretty much stock just replace the filter with the standard 200 filter. The main difference between the two is the 200 filter is a top feeder (fluid inlet is on top of the filter) where the 700 filter inlet is on the bottom of the filter. The only advantage (maybe) of the 700 style is there is less chance of the inlet becoming uncovered during hard acceleration causing low or loss of pump pressure. I have never had that problem with the 200 filter but then I'm only running 11's.
