TCC solenoid replace

Hello, My friend has an 87 GN that needs a new TCC solenoid. Do you have to pull the valve body to replace it and how big of a job is it? He has limited auto mechanic experience.

You do not need to pull the valve body only the pan. It is a fairly simple job - auto transmissions scare me but I did it. There is a good write-up on gnttype.org. If that site is still down, there is an even more detailed write-up on the Monte Carlo SS site.

thanks so much for the help. My friend has bought the part and printed out the directions from the MonteSS site and is going to do the job this weekend.
