I have review posts both past and current and was happy to have confirmed my problem is not in my mind. I just want to confirm what I believe to be true about part numbers and which might be best to use.

I have both the GM ACDelco solenoid 0868 3187 which GM, Rock Auto and others claim to be OEM. I also have a Standard TCS 13 which Kirban's site shows to be the current replacement item. he does say that the OEM part is "unfortunately" not available. I take that to mean that if you had the OEM it would be best to use it.

Others say the replacement is "better" but needs some mods during install (shims and such).

Any opinions? Going to have it installed next week.

One solenoid really isn't any better than the other. You can get the standard length solenoid for a 200-R4 or the universal solenoid that fits both the 200's and 700's which is a little longer. If you get the universal one you will have to use the spacers that are supplied with the solenoid when used in a 200-R4. Either is a simple install.
