Have the Heads been gone through? Even just a 3 angle valve job will give nearly a 10% improvement in flow and allow a little higher RPM.

You ran 118 on pump gas + alchy with a TA 49 thru a 100% stock longblock with 26" tall tires?

That isn't the norm. Congrats, that is FAST!!!!

Heads do have a 3 angle. - stock cam and bottom end (107k on them). Blew the head gaskets earlier this year.

And yes I went 118 on pump gas + alky with a 49 on 26" tires, thru the exhaust and without a posi.

Thanks for the congrats. The 1/8th mph was 95.82.

That is even more impressive than 118 in the 1/4. When my car ran 118 it only went 93.5 in the 1/8th.

With 28" BFG's you might have gone over 120 in the 1/4.

There is still time........:D

wow that is flying...I nearly blew my car up when I made my 11.50 pass...well actually I ended up blowing a headgasket later on the highway trying to run the same 28 psi on the street with alky...sigh:rolleyes:

Thanks Don - My car has been down the track about 12-15 passes on this tune and about 500 street miles. If it was going to come apart - it would have already happened.

let's put it this way...on my old combo with a TE-44 turbo and 50's with stock converter, rebuilt trans, 3" downpipe, slicks and race gas, race chip, bone stock motor with just valve springs, stock intercooler...I ran a best of 11.52 @ 118 mph at 28 psi and a 15 psi launch:eek: ... it's hard to go much faster than that without head work...

How are you holding 15PSI at the line??? I need those parts too...

118 is about rite as an average. ET is dependant on traction. Typical i've seen at 25 PSI is about 113-115. Moderate timing, no hail mary's..stock heads, stock cam.
What is meant here by Hail Marys??

Hmm.. I only had to launch on 3psi.......I guess every car is different.

Were you the only tan t there? Only reason I'm asking someone said that a tan t ran 11 teens? Still really cool times!!! Can't wait to see it run.

My car with stock heads ran 11.9 @ 115 w/ a TE44, THDP and DeQuick Frontmount and ~24 PSI of boost.

Great street turbo

The tan T-type was me......and I'm fairly confident that I'm the only tan (cream beige) car in the state.
