hello people; I don't know who to go to but I would get more info from the vendors that sell them to put you in the right direction.
But could you tell what's in your car running the TE-44 from chip to torque converter if you don't mind.
thanks

Stock Chip, Stock converter. TE-44 was a gift. I'm mostly stock. Things like new suspension , brakes, sensors, exhaust and a ton of stuff. No real go fast goodies though. Just started to gather parts for future upgrades.

I've had John Craig rebuild a couple of turbos and I'm sure Precision does too.

Precision rebuilt my turbo in 2009 or 2010. It was leaking oil and there was another issue with it, shrapnel was sent through the oiling system. I believe a bearing had to be replaced, the seals, and the turbo had to be rebalanced. It was $275 + shipping. For new seals I was quoted $175.

The one in the above pics has a lot of damage to the compressor and you can also see contact with the housing at the inducer. It's common to have shaft runout after the compressor swallows debris. The backplate is probably worn in the sealing ring area. Typically when you see this much damage you should plan on replacing the cartridge. We haven't even seen the condition of the shaft and the bearing housing. Too make my perfect you'd be re -contouring the compressor cover and resurfacing the ex housing also. Sealing rings are $20. Replacing them won't correct the other issues.

Doesn't matter guys. I appreciate all the info but I either rebuild it, sell it or keep it as garage art.
Thanks

Man get Bison to rebuild it and be out a few hundred rather then kick yourself later when ya spending 600+ for the same setup...

Sent while waiting for boost to build...

It's more than a few hundred to fix it. The compressor is shot. We don't know the condition of the turbine shaft, back plate, or bearing housing either.

Replace it with a Billet Pt-5858cea and don't look back..
