hardway, lots of good advice above.personally i would take it all, check for the leaks, get a tt chip, but most of all get a good converter.the precision housings flow more but don't spool as well, the 212 softens the bottum end up as well, you need the converter to makeup what you have softened up.

My car will slow down if the rpm drops below about 4800 on shifts with the 212/212. Ideally it wants to be at 5000 on shifts and pulls hardest between 5000 and 5500. I have the smaller 212 grind. The trans shifts at 5900.

I apprecitate everyone's input on this matter. I am going to start with a TT chip and see what kind of results I yield. If I feel I need a converter after that I will start looking in to what would best suit me. I will post my results once I get my chip from Eric and the TT guys. Thanks again everybody!

I have a stock cam, 3200 converter, and a 6157 turbo. I also found that my turbo starts to spool at 3200 rpm. Makes it hard to hold any boost at the line. I tried a couple different TT chips, no difference. The car really takes off when it hits 3200 rpm's.

I got my TurboTweak chip installed this evening and took the car for a quick drive. First let me say WOW! What a difference! Just from a normal driveability stand point the car is much more responsive and seems like it does not have to work as hard from light to light. I only got to do a few full throttle runs and it is definitely spooling up quicker. It starts right around 3100rpm but I can tell from my scanmaster that my RPM's are a bit off so it maybe sooner. Plus I know for sure the factory boost gauge is not accurate so I may go ahead and install my Autometer vac/boost gauge along with my Caspers knock gauge. All I can say is I can feel and hear a big difference. The car just flat out flys! From a 60mph punch it will get to 100mph in no time flat. The best $85 I have ever spent on the car.

hardway,am i understanding you are saying the car now spools at 3100 rpm compared to the 3200-3500 rpm that you felt it was spooling before?i could understand the car waking up above 60 mph with your combo the tt chips are awesome.

Yes Mr. Spool you are correct. I was checking my scan master for RPMs and it is 50-100rpm off and possibly more. I can feel it and hear it spooling up even though my dash says zero. Once I get my AM vac/boost gauge I will be able to tell more.

do you have an rjc bleeder valve? if not i would highly recommend it you will be so surprised on how fast your car will spool. i am surprised no one has suggested it. your car turbo will start to spool as soon as you goose the throttle in gear

I have seen those and thought about getting one. The car is currently for sale and runs great as is right now. At this point I can not see putting anymore money in to it. But if it looks like I will be hanging on to it for awhile I will check in to one.
