TE33c on a stock car??

my car is not stock but would a te33c work well with 30lb inj and a stock convertor? i am in the position to buy one but should i just save my pennies until I can afford some 36lb injectors at the same time???
 
Changing the turbo is the ideal time to change the injectors.....I'd do them @ the same time.

I have a Ta33 on my 86 right know (don't ask :p) with stock injectors and I just ran 12.7@107 on 16psi. But I do have an intercooler and alky injection.
 
A TE33C on an 86/7 :eek: ...thats BIG TROUBLE YOU NEED TO TAKE IT OFF RIGHT NOW AND GET A TA-49!!!!! by the way, once that horrible 33 is removed I will gladly take it off your hands for a rather small amount:D
 
The 33 is not mine to sell. Just borrowing it from a good friend thanks Twins :D. The stocker blew and I needed a turbo. A TA49 will go on the car but not before I put bigger injtectors in it.

BTW - a 49 is bigger than a TA33. The 33 uses a stock turbine and a smaller compressor wheel than the TA49. The 49 looks huge sitting next to the 33. The 33 is most likely a Te34 with a hotair housing.

I may see how fast this little 33 will take me @ high boost in a couple weeks.

I guess I agree on trying a couple of things before throwing in the towel on the 49.

fireberd350: a 33 will wake your car up.....with the mods. you have it should really make you happy.

It spooled just about as fast as the stocker on my dad's car and pulled a lot harder w/out running out breath @4k. It was on my car so long I forget what the stocker was like. Follow Nocoolers advice (always a good idea anyway) and wait for the injectors.

Get a chip with 22-23 % of timing, poor in some 110, crank the boost to 22-23 and look for some 12's.
 
I went 13.18 on TA33 with 116 octane, 18psi and a street chip. Lots of room to go, I could hit 12's with a good race chip and 20psi.
