i bought a used te44 and it does have some shaft play, enough to make wonder if it needs to be rebuilt, any body know how much is to much? nothing is scraping (yet) it is a percision turbo where should i send it? thanks Terry

We build TE44's all the time. They are just garrett turbos....nothing special about them.

Side to side play is ok as long as it doesn't chew up the housing, but any in-out play is usually bad.

Ya....my brand new TE44....a month old.....one of the damn seals broke and leaks oil all over. I wonder how much that's gonna cost to fix...

Im not sure, I bought mine brand new off a member who decided he wanted another turbo.
