Limit TE67,does anyone run this turbo? 55# inj good? What stall would I need? Looking to go bigger and it looked like a good prospect.

I just put one on my car. I havn't got it tunned yet though.
I running a 3800 stall billet 9/11 with a .85 exhaust housing and motron 60/65 injectors. It spools just like my 51 with a 3200 stall, although it's hard to tell since all it does is spin the tires.
If you plan on running this turbo all out I would sugest 72lb injectors w/ ecm mod or if you running alky you can get away with the motron 60/65 lb injectors.
If you don't plan on running all out, the 55's will work. But there's really no reason to buy 55's when you can get 60's for basically the same price and have room for the future.

55

I already have the 55's. I could upgrade later. I was thinking a .63 housing and 3500 conv. I will be getting an alky set up soon.

That setup should work well, just keep an eye on your injector duty cycle if your really turning up the boost.

67

Any reliability problems and it being a small shaft? Compared to like a TE63 big shaft...

If John Craig builds it you will have no reliability issues...

You should talk to him or Chopper first though as i believe either one will recommend a TE45A before a TE (or GT) 67.

I plan on running this turbo. Since I am 99% street, I am going with the .63 housing for spool up and HPC coating the exhaust housing.

I would not go over a 3400 stall if you are a street car, its overkill and you might start to lose some converter effeciency.

55#'s will be plenty IF you plan on running alky. You can easily get another 10-15% out of the injectors with the alky.

I heard that the new TE45's come with the 67 in it, best to call Craig.

Ceramic coating

Dr.booster, where are you getting your exh housing coated? Getting it coated inside and out or just out?

I am not sure if I am going to do the hiper or hyper coating. I saw Race Jace and he has the headers and housing polished hiper and its still on after something like 6 years. I am going to do both the in and out HPC'd.

To say something like it dies at 25 psi is a bit to generic. Without a compressor map, no one can make that claim. I have yet to see a 67 compressor map and I highly doubt its dead at only 25psi.

I think the guys at Limit are qualified enough to make that statement, and they have to me on more than one occasion. It is generic, but in general, the GT67 wheel is only slightly better than the 66 wheel (likely not even noticeable) at lower boost levels and somewhere in the 23 -26psi range depending on your combo the 66 wheel will be making more pwer than the GT67.

I have ran the 67 in the 24 psi range and wasn't overly impressed. That's why I have switched back to the 66 wheel.

As far as I know, if they build it with a 67 wheel they are calling it a GT67 turbo (not sure whether they are doing it in big shaft or small shaft although mine was a big shaft). If they build it with the 66mm wheel it is the TE45A.

If your car is truly 99% street driven and you are not intending on running over 24- 25 psi of boost, the GT67 may be a slightly better choice. If the car is going to see higher boost levels and spend a reasonable amount of time at the track then the 45A is the way to go.

I tried a TE61 and I got more power all the way up to 30PSI. Now I have the TE67 (Which has a 67mm GT compressor wheel), and a P-trim turbine. Is this the turbo you guys are talking about? It feels great to me. I'm sure it will pull hard past 30PSI. The TE45 is about $400 more, and about the same turbo. I'm cheap, and I don't keep turbos very long anyways.

Yes, TE67 is what we are talking about. It doesn't sound like you've actually run it up into the mid 20's on boost. It may very well "pull hard" past 30+ as you say, but the guru's say it will not pull as hard as the 45A will. Also, with a turbo that big, I personally would rather buck up and get a big shaft trubo rather than a small shaft.

The TE61 that worked up to 30 psi is an old 60-1 compressor wheel. You would find that had you switched to the new GT61 wheel that it would not have pulled as hard at that boost level either. Some of the GT's just have different efficiency ranges and are more suitable to the street than they are the track where they'll see high boost.

Chopper is Johns employee his main contact guy. When u call there to talk turbos youll talk to Chopper 1st. Very nice guy.

Yeah Chopper is definitely a straight shooter. FWIW I've only run my PT67 once at the track and got a 10.20 @ 133.5. I've recently straightened a few things out and would like to see a 9.99 with it

Damn Scott thats flying, Would love to know some of the cars specs (Ie heads, cam, stall.weight ect). I just got mine up and running and would be thrilled to just get a 10. anything timeslip.

Which one would be better to run on a stock longblock??Ive got a te63 big shaft that needs rebuilt and I want to upgrade:)

My combo is about the same as turbo2nr minus the 7th,ive got more stall, and ive got Julios kit.

TA61 is nice,but I want a bigger turbo.Ill run no more than 25#'s(ive run 30# on the 61)

And of course its going to Limit:)

3000 stall "0" pump Vigilante. MaxEffort "R". PTE front mount. 72 lb. inj. Ported iron heads. Ive taken a lot of weight out, although I'm not sure what it weighs. ie. no ac, manual steering, LT1 starter, alum. F-body radiator. etc.

Info on coatings, i took my gt61 exhaust housing to coating specialties in IL. in south chicago heights, 708 754-3311. they do it two ways, 1. they just coat the outside of the housing or 2. they grind the outside smooth for the show look and coat the outside. This is the same place Rad Rods By Troy uses. I was very happy with the finished product.
