whats the "danger" zone for over heating, i caught a plastic bag over the fmic today and it got up to 220 degrees before i noticed it. so far theres no milk shake but how much danger was/is my engine in?

I see 220 when I'm sitting in traffic. It's 108 degrees almost everyday in south Texas. The pavement must be 130.

I run about 200-213 when driving with the AC on during these hot days. I run 185 at night with the AC on. Night temp is about 80.

my car doesn't see any higher than 175 in 95 deg heat with my front mount in traffic. those spal dual fans rock. a little trick for a cooler running car is to run a higher pressure rad cap. i'm yea, if you have a weak link in your coolant system, it may spring a leak due to the higher pressure, but as you pressurize coolant and water, you raise the boiling point thus reducing the chances of a "boil over". but a properly setup cooling system shouldn't need any help doing it's job. i run a 7lb cap and have no problems with the front mount.
