Tensioner pulley replacement

I noticed that the pulley is chattering and making some noise, is there a replacement pulley available or a replacement bearing for the pulley that can be purchased? Thanks for the help guys. Its a stock 86 GN.

AIRC that brg is the same as the alternator brg, so it should be readily available.
The xperts will be here soon. ;)
 
I used this one and got the correct belt size so it operates in the correct area of the tensioner. Been nice and quite for a couple if thousand miles so far.

Is it worth waiting for the timken or just go local for the duralast? And what is the "correct" belt size? Thanks for the help.
 
Use whatever makes you sleep good at night. Belt depends on your pulley setup. My car is all stock and I used a NAPA 060630 6PK1601 belt.

Myself, I prefer Timken bearings but that's just me.

As for the belt size, that can vary a bit. For me it's the old GM 1618mm that being said if I get a 1618mm in any other belt it falls out of the tensioner limit markings. I currently have a Goodyear 1613mm on now & it works well as ya can't get the GM belts anymore.

For a perfect fit, take a string & run it along all the pulleys & get a length from that measurement.
 
Thanks guys but it's bringing up more questions. How tight or loose should the brg fit on the tensioner hub? The one I removed is a bit loose.
Where are the tensioning marks and what should they be?
The brg that I have in there now is a 6203LU and is an NTN. Is this the correct brg? Not sure what the LU means in the p/n.
The belt I had was a 6PK1615 but I didn't look at the indicator before removal. Thanks for the help. Just trying to stop the that the pulley seems to be doing.

Tight enough that you can tap in with a hammer & socket.

Tension marks will be on the pass. side of tensioner. You'll see a line on the firewall side & a line on the pulley side. You want those two match up. Below the line belt is too tight, above the line too loose. I think I got that right anyway.....:D. I install belt then run for a bit. This helps me check for stretch. I've had belts match on install, then after some running, the tenson has changed.
 
Your first sentence, is that brg into pulley or fit of the pulley to tensioner hub? I was asking about putting the pulley onto the tensioner hub. Mine seemed loose. Thanx

Ok did you get that at a local auto parts store? We are very limited around here in what we have. That is the size I took off so I was going to try a 1600 (630) to get it right on the mark of the tensioner but it might be too short. It could also be mine had stretched enough. Thanks
