Thoughts on drilling out wastegate hole prior to install to prevent "boost creep" or should I do install and see if creep occurs? What size should hole be drilled if needed?

If you want to port the hole you should put some sort of marking compound on the puck, install the pipe, close the wastegate, take off the pipe and then you'll have a guide as to where to port the hole to. As far as waiting untill you need it I feel that your definately not going to hurt yourself by enlarging the hole unless you enlarge it to where the puck can't seal it off. As a side note I've run both stock and ta49 turbos without any problem with boost creep as high as 25 psi. I atribute this to using a boost controller to adjust boost as opposed to shortening the wastegate rod. HTH james

What turbo and what size hole is in the housing now?

1" to 1 1/16" is relatively easy and safe to do.

I'd put it on and drive it around a while to see if it creeps. It probably will creep, but after driving around for a while you'll have a nice, very accurate carbon mark that will tell you where to grind out the wastegate hole.

Stock turbo. I'll install and drive it around. If needed I'll drill hole out. Thanks folks.

creep

If it does creep make sure your actuator spring is strong enough. I went with a stronger spring and problem was solved.
