Just got the car running after the long winter which I installed my DIY alchy system.
I wanted to see if the alcohol would cause the engine to stumble during idle when I push the test button? Nothing happened.

I filled the reservoir with 50/50 mix denatured/water. I thought the way you can test the system is to idle the engine and inject the alchy and it would cause it to idle rough.
I'm 95% sure the system is working cause I had the up-pipe off and checked it then and it was squirting.

Sometimes idling you just fill your intercooler up with alky/water. :(

I like to test it driving out on the surface roads at 10-20mph or so.

You need enough airflow to make sure it goes into the motor especially if the nozzle is down low near the intercooler.

Should bog the motor at that point.

Well if you wired it correctly, I would also suggest as above and do a road test at very low PSI hit the test button. Like 1-2 PSI boost.

You have a small nozzle(M10) and a pump at 60 PSI. And using mix.. all three of those contribute.

One thing you can do is looking at the scanmaster, as soon as you fire the system look at the O2's, they should jump into the 800's. But for a stumble to happen.. not all cars will do this. Especially given the nozzle your using, pressure, mix.

Thanks guys, do I have to worry about the accumulation of mix in the intercooler? Will it eventually evaporate? or could I slug the engine? When should I worry?

Look at the bottle to make sure some went down but not all of it went down.

That will tell you how much MAY or MAY NOT be in your intercooler.

Overnight most will evaporate I would think.

Very doubtful you can hurt anything unless you pump a half a gallon into the IC.

This is one reason I dont use water. See if you have any accumulation, hitting alcohol with a little hot air.. it will flash and is gone.

Water needs like 200 Degrees for it to flash.. so its a totally different scenario.

If you have water in the IC, you will have to drain it. You do not want your motor to hydro lock. That would be a very bad thing.

Should you worry about accumulation in your IC, under normal conditions??? No. But I dont know specifics of your pump and nozzle placement to make such an opinion since its a DIY.

Water evaporates kinda easily as well, especially with air rushing over it.

Also bogs the motor more in a mix so you should definately test under 10-20 mph and make sure it is flowing at all.

Only 3.8 Fords hydro lock. :D

Buddy of mine is a tech at a BMW dealership, he's seen dozens of 750i's hydro locked becuase the scoop for the air is underneath the fender. They drive through a big enough puddle.. bent rods then happen.

Again not knowing how much has been sprayed/dumped.. I cannot but er in the favor of safety.

If you only dumped 6-10 ounces of liquid into the IC, then its a non issue. Tho I dont know exactly how much water it would take to hydro your motor.
