Anyone here ever play big time poker? I mean like at a Casino? I have been watching these pro poker tourneys on TV and it looks very interesting. There is a place in Shreveport where you can play Texas hold'em. Some of the firemen I work with have played it out there and really enjoyed it. I may have to try it.

I really enjoy playing poker, but I don't play it at casino's. I had a friend call me the other day and wants me to go over to the local VFW that he just joined and play poker on Friday nights. Should be fun. Im sure the Texas hold'em you will get some serious players there so be carefull.

Good Luck...

I've watch that too on TV. Stakes get real high.

Try www.partypoker.com
You can play for real money or just play using their play money.
Games include texas holdem, 7 card, and Ohama. It is pretty fun but can be addicting.

I play quite a bit of poker, but have learned my lesson at the casinos. You typically have to buy into the game, and yes there are some very good players. I consider myself pretty good, know a lot of strategy, etc and I usually get my clock cleaned by those old men at the casinos. My buddies dont stand a chance on Sat night though:D

That show makes me want to quit my job and do the poker tour! The game I play in every couple of weeks has a core of people who met at the low limit hold'em tables in AC. One guy I play with took second in a tournament about 2 months back. It's a blast but tournament play is a whole different game then when the stakes are in front of you. Casinos are like a game anywhere-there'll be one or two people who will call nearly everything, so don't try to bluff them, there'll be a few people playing scared who will bail unless they pull a monster, and then a few people who know what they're doing. Sit down and play a bit tight and you should be fine, provided of course you don't put anything on the table you can't afford to lose.

You can play it and many other versions at www.paradisepoker.com. You can play for play money or real money. I play hold em' alot. It's a lot different in real life. You can read the people online.
