TH-400 in street car

i know the race buicks and stuff run the TH-400 w/transbrakes i think. how would a TH-400 w/T-brake work in a daily driver? whats the benefit of a TH-400? does it have a fifth gear or something?

No fifth gear...not even a fourth gear.

A TH-400 is GM's old heavy-duty 3-speed automatic. You'll have increased inertia and drag, higher revs on the street, no automatic shifts & no lock-up capability. The main benefit in a race application is the sheer strength of these old boxes.
