Hey Lou.
I might have driven over my crank on the way home from your shop....but only because I was in a real happy mood over how well my 87 is running. That's why I'm the Meanchicken.;)

Thanks for your solid work, advice, fair treatment, fair prices...and service. I really appreciate the added touches you did that added a little more to the appearance under my hood.

The news that the bearings, rings, valves etc all checked out good will help me to relax a bit, and I'm glad to finally have my rear main seal...sealed...and my timing gears and water pump replaced.

The Hooker cat back and Duttweilered IC you installed combined with the cold air kit I put in last week really helped the power out at the boost level I'm at. The GN is pulling a lot stronger now.

What a great guy Lou is!

Now I just need to replace my front bumper fillers before Sunday!
I have a set from TR Customs, so as long as they fit, I'll paint them up and put them in, in time for the cruise.

Next set of upgrades will include the downpipe (RJC looks good unless I can get lucky and score a nice Terry Houston), F-Body radiator/Ramcharger fan and if I have the budget....a bigger turbo.

After that....a trip to Vegas to see Mr. Freeman!

Cool Tim, That's GREAT news!!!!! ;)

Congrats on the good service I would do the tranny first tim and see how much you can get out of the stock turbo with a 3" downpipe and also have the throttle body and plenum ported

Thanks Tim,
I don,t presently see the need for dual fans or any of that unless there is a specific need for it.Go run the car get a base line & think carefully about your next move. I like the idea of the down pipe & TA-60 upgrade. Use a garret ex housing with the stock converter for spool up. stay with the stock.TB headers.& Maf.Get friendly with Eric Marshall very smart guy & he will keep you straight on the tune. You will be surprised how far you can go by using a little common sense. Eventually a big step is to get a good trans with the right stall.Len Freemen can advise you on that.Pretty soon you too will be 11's capable. Meanwhile expect the beatings here to continue. Your Daddy Lou

I think I just threw up in my mouth  LOL

Glad to hear your car is running strong. Lou has done the same for me in the past, and now I have a strong running car....11 capable  you too are on the way!!!

Thanks Andrew,The only thing That I find odd is that you guys seem to be happiest when you're struggling & once you have it all figured out the car sits in the garage as an ornament & hardly See's the light of day.I want to see these some of this hard work put to good use.

Lou, trust me, you and me both. I know you have labored over my car for countless hours to get it where it is today. I'd love to get it to the track and run the hell out of it. Unfortunately, it all comes down to time and money :(

Although I do accept donations .

I hope to have her out soon!!!

Good To Hear That All Is Well Tim

Now that your 87 Chicken-Choker has a clean bill of health

Try the Angeles Crest Highway once again and see how different it feels:smile:

Enjoy your car, drive it often, and fix only what needs to be fixed

I've hit 10.72 at 126 mph on my car with a single fan, I drive my car atleast 400 miles each week, and even during the Angeles Crest run I didn't have a problem overheating (I hit 210 - 215 for short periods of time but it always came back down to 180 -190)

Racing is fun (fixing it when it breaks sucks...lol), but driving it daily is where the real enjoyment comes from for me

I have 6 cars and 3 motorcycles and I drive my GN for business & pleasure on a daily basis

Never a day goes by that I don't get a thumbs up, or a great looking car comment from someone on the road

Is it the most comfortable car that I own......nope

Is it the most reliable car that I own...nope

Does it get the best mpg.....nope

Is the AC the coldest of the bunch.....nope

Then what is it about these black beasts that make a person suffer the indignities of being subjected to load noise, unburned fuel smells, a$$ itching, always needing to touch and stroke and wrench, low mpg, and a weak a$$ed AC......and still ride around with the windows down, a smile on your face, and a hardon you could chip granite with!

It's a sickness

But its FUN

See you on Sunday

TIM glad your car is running smooth.

good job mister lou.

Now if we can ALL help Harold get his car on the road that would be nice,,
he promises to play nice,, be quiet and polite.

I agree 100%. I drive mine all week long too. At least 50 miles a day. Love it!

I want to keep it relaible...as possible...and hopefully get it into the 11's while doing so.
I want to be like you when I grow up!

There's nothing like learning from one of the best.
All I had to do was drop the car off, stay out of Lou's way and listen intently and respectfully on his advice based on knowledge he's gained over decades of building and tweaking these TB's and and whala!!!
I'm a friggin' happy guy!
It's a magical thing....I can't stop grinnin' see...happened again... somebody stop me!!!!
I also appreciate the kind advice and feedback from all the others in the Southwestern crowd....uhgh...I'm getting misty again...;)

I'm personally praying for Harolds Turbo Buick happiness to come around soon.....seriously....
It took me awhile to realize who Harold actually is, but I've figured out the face that goes with the name finally and honestly....he's a very likeable guy in my opinion and I always like to see him at the cruizes. I'd love to see the Wicked GN back on the road.

Shucks...I like everybody...it's always made Christmas a fun time of year.

So far most of my favorite people have responded to this post & thanks. If SGRIM reads this he will have a coronary with all these pleasantries gushing forth. This is so unsouthwest & out of step for us & bound to affect our ratings as the most captivating forum. Now back to the feed back section don't want to miss any recent developments on the major scandal that was uncovered there. Lou

Glad to hear that your motor is coming along as planned, Tim. Before you know it, you will be wishing that you had not gone quite so far on the power adders.

On another note, I also hope that Harold gets his motor straightened out, whether he decides to do it himself or have it built, I wish him well on the re-build.
