I finally got to drive my car last night after installing my new PTC converter over the weekend. We have had a lot of rain and I have been working late so I never got to drive it after installing.

As soon as I hit the street I noticed an immediate difference even at a quarter throttle the car spools so fast! I can not believe the difference it made. The car feels like it lost 1000 pounds it put a huge smile on my face! I made one pull from a stop just a tiny amount of stall 2500rpm 4psi as soon as I let the brake go the boost shot to 15psi faster than it ever has and the tires were hatting it.....it got so loose I had to lift and could not help from laughing the whole time!

Just wanted to share and say thanks again Dusty for a great Product!

Whats your combo consist of?
nothing special....stock 109 block with a girdle stock iron heads ported and polished by champion and intake,210/215 roller cam,ATR headers 3" TH down pipe with a dinosaur TE-66 55# injectors wit twin 340's in the tank and a TT chip

I had the same combo with stock headers and 72lb injectors and ran 10.50 et at 129mph

Thanks, did you go from a stock converter to a PTC?

No I had an Art Carr 10" 3000 stall it has been in the car for9-10 years.......like many other TR owners I have been fighting little issues with the car for so long...I woud get it running good then deal with an issue then the car would sit etc........had the car at the track last year it ran pretty good 11.54 but I was having a hard time getting it to come out good could only get a 1.7 60'.......then I ended up torching a head gasket so I freshend up the engine while it was out. I have been noticing that the car did not feel right slower to spool and felt sluggish even though it rand decent at the track. I fought with the waste gate hanging and fought exhaust leaks but I never ever thought of my converter being bad.

Then I started to have some erratic shifting and that got my attention to look at the trans and that when I noticed how low the car was actually stalling. Called Dusty and within in a week I had a new converter and the difference is just amazing!

I think I finally have my combo dialed in now it is just a matter of playing with the tune but hell at 15psi it wont hold the drag radials and it tons of fun on the street!

How much stall is the new PTC converter?

Do you have a web link to it?

It's 3ooo stall

a web link to PTC? no I just contacted Dusy Bradford on this forum gave him my combo and he sent me a converter.

Damn! ok then I should be able to get in the 10's no problem....especialy now since the car spools so much faster and I can actually leave hard.
Yes! you should run 10s with no problem. A good 60s help to.

Good to hear you got her figured out. Planning on getting one of PTC units myself, waiting to receive my newly purchased st3 EA trans.

Plan on heading to the track?

Amelio. Glad you like the product. I was sure you had an issue with your old converter so I'm glad this got you fixed up.
