A friend of mine has this system on his semi. With a click he can see where his driver is at all times in his truck. It works great Daniel

FWIW & IMHO:
It does appear to be a good assist to law enforcement to locate your car once it has been stolen, but considering you don't know how many packets you will need, it could become pricey. There could and probably would be a time delay between when you ordered extra packets for data transmission in the event there bacame a hot pursuit" and the vehicle was either stolen, or being stolen. Does look like it has possible potential, though. The value of this system is going to be solely dependent upon the response you get from whatever law enforcement agency you contact to report a stolen vehicle, and how responsive they are to this system.

Just so everybody dose not get confuesed, this system is not operated be the police. when this GPS tracking system is used with any alarm it will notify you by a phone call to a preselected number and send you a email. at that time you can track the car and notfiy the police of it's location. as for packets, if you ran out you can hit the refule button and in a matter of a few seconds your up and tracking again. As for the price of the extra packets, I gladly pay a few dallors to get my car back in one peice..

I evidently missed the part where it said that the response time
after requesting more packets is a matter of seconds before you get more packets placed in your account. And you are still dependent upon some type of action by law enforcement to stop your vehicle. You are basically still solely dependent upon law enforcements acceptance of your word that your car has or is being stolen, and you are tracking the vehicle on gps. You are correct, however, that we all would pay virtually any amount to stop a vehicle theft. I just don't see law enforcement being able to react quickly on a verbal statement.

How much is this system?

What do ya'll think about those phantom trackers? cant you track a car like that too?

I can't speak for law enforement, But i'm sure they are more likely to respond quicker if you tell then you have the location of where your car is at. The system has a starter or IGN. kill feature, If you use the IGN kill you can stop the car with the stroke of a key from your computer! As for the price I think the complete system was $310.00 and that includes a backup battery. :D
