What is the fix for this? This has happened a couple times now while running the car. Loud pop and I have to get off the pedal. I guess when the boost starts getting up there the rubber vac cap cant take it anymore and breaks. I saw some nylon vaccum caps at AZ the other day in the "help" isle. Are these better? Or should I try something more drastic like make another gasket for the block, blocking off vaccum to this port? I made the gasket thats on there now and still have more material so shouldnt be that big of a deal. Or should I just JB weld the inside of the stupid thing:rolleyes:

Dodged the bullet the last couple times. Alky might not be enough next time........ guess I'll be checking my compression tommorow... again.

Thanks ahead for any input/suggestions

P.S. this is the large vaccum port on the the vaccum block, passenger side, towards front of the engine.
Also, what is the deal with this port? I guess hydroboost was an after thought and they already produced thousands of vaccum blocks with power booster in mind? Is there any other use for this port? Maybe into some reservoir?

I use the vinyl vacuum caps and zip tie the sh!t out of em...

Thanks, I'll give it a try :) Hopefully one less "stupid" thing to worry about

Been using a cable tie with the rubber vac cap. Problem isnt the cap sliding off but litterally blowing a hole through it  The rubber vac cap is still there but with a hole in it.
Just wanted to clarify for understanding. Thanks for your response.

I have been using some heavy duty caps I procurred from NAPA. I have not had any problems with them.
