I have decieded the 400 trans is the way I will go. I am not settled on how stout that needs to be built yet simply because I have little expertise in that area. But, I am hoping some of you can chime in on suggestions on a converter. I have met and spoken with transmission builders and it seems everyone of them have a different opinion on what would be best. That in its self, leads me to believe I may be over thinking this issue. Now-with my motor I definitly would use only someone who knows the V6 Turbo. Does that really hold true for the trans and converter also?I have heard the names Pro-Torqe, Precision and Neil Chance. Then I have heard buying one from TCI or others from Summit etc. may not best suit out Turbo cars. Then their are shops, like the one near my home, ( bflo NY ) - Compitition Trans, that can custom make one for $950. And they will work with you to get the stall correct. I guess I am asking if the choice of a converter would best be addressed be a trans shop who specilizes in our Turbo Cars or would any reputable speed shop be fine. I hope to be running 850 HP in a 3500 pound GN with a trans brake. Well, there is another issue - the transbrake. I am finding every shop has their own opinion on that also, and many make their own. Who is to say what is best ? Maybe I am over thinking that issue also. Are they that different where I need to be very careful what I buy? Or, is this a case of OverKill on my part where as 850 HP is not like 1000 plus. Like all of us- I am trying to make a good decision without overkill and breaking the bank. Thanks Larry
