I have an alky kit but now i need to get the fluid, where? i was told home depot and washer fluid?? if i can get it locally brand names please, thnx.

Washer fluid????????

Well u got the home depot right if u want denatured alcohol. The preferred alcohol is methanol from a local speed shop.

The "winter" washer fluid contains about 33% meth - if you run the numbers to find the freezing point, you'll find that just 33% meth is enough to keep it from freezing. I use this when people dont have access to 100% meth. Others will mix more methanol into the washer fluid to get different mixes. Besides that, it's really cheap!

Contact the vendor of the alky system and ask them what liquids they recommend and how to set the system up. Second hand information on this issue can lead to system failure, engine damage, tuning problems, etc.

Dont assumme... it can cost you $$$$$.

Perfect example, run washer fluid through an older SMC system.. the pump will be toast in no time... run denatured with lube.. it may last 5+ years.

If your new to this.. start reading the message boards and copy what others are doing and having success... from that point.. make changes to the recipe and see if there is improvement. Its the easiest way.

Yea, the main thing is to pick something that people already have 'debugged' for you :)

Stick with some config, tune with it, and have some fun! (I think I should just stop writing here since it seems like I am CTRL C-ing what Razor states  ) The only way to get good at something is to immerse yourself in it. Changing pumps, mixes, alkys, nozzles, controllers, etc. all give you variables that you will have to figure out on your own. Learning experience? Yes. Lots of damage? Probably! (just post pix for us!)

And BTW, I hadn't implied you use the WW fluid... that's your call!
