Saw it last night. It was kinda F&F ricey but the 69 Judge and the new GTO parts were very cool:)
The 69 Judge looked really nice too. Usually the 'make up' a musclecar to look like one but this one looked right in every way..

Im really starting to like the new GTO too:) In fact a local dealer has a yellow 6 speed out front.. oooooooooooo:)

Its sad, the car still looks like a grand am even after they scoop the hood to make it look more like a real GTO. GM should just give it up, they will not sell those new GTOs in this movie like they sold tran ams in the old smokey and the bandit movie.

Not to rehash that whole GTO/Cavalier thread but that movie sure drove the point home for me that the 2004 GTO is one homely automobile. :o Even the scooped hood that the chop shop just happened to have in stock  didn't help any.

As Bob Lutz stated last year, Pontiac is not looking to attract older, original GTO buyers (the one's that can afford it). The looks of the car was right at home with the rice rockets in the movie, especially after they bolted the screen door under the front bumper at the chop shop and changed the rear wing. They're looking to lure buyers that are accustomed to import styling.

The movie was good, I enjoyed seeing some american muscle cars, even tho they riced one out in the end. Its a shame they didnt show the gn and tta that much in the movie.

You mean they had a gn and tta in the movie at all? If so i will have to see it.

It was on the USA network last night. Like a movie of the week thing.. Stared one big named star, Can;t member his name lol

Looks like, here we go again with the GTO thing.

The car is really awesome, looks and all. If you have not driven one; you need to. I respect everyone’s opinion. But, commenting on looks alone is not fair to the whole package. It is an American muscle car. Some might say it is built in Australia so it is not American. Well if a Honda built in the US is still a Japanese car, a Pontiac GTO built in Australia by GM is an American car in my book. Many of us have long for the day that Muscle cars in America would come back well this is one of them. Again, do not put it down unless you have experienced the whole package. Handling, comfort and performance are all good. 13.8-¼ mile is what some of the fastest pure stock GN’s used to run new.

The retro look does not work (i.e. Thunderbird which has been discontinued). You need to be progressive thinkers.

I almost bought one until I drove the Cadillac CTS-V, another awesome Muscle car (I know Cadillac muscle sounds weird). Bought the Cadillac because of 13.2 ¼ mile, better handling and comfort. In my opinion and for the money a Cadillac CTS-V, Pontiac GTO and Z06 Corvette (not necessarily in that order) are the best buys in brand new Muscle cars today. If you do not like these go buy a Chrysler 300 HEMI (talk about something that is fugly). Or a new Mustang (which is a FORD).

Bottom line GTO might look to you like a Cavalier or Grand Am but it sure does not drive like one. If you have a 12 - 13 sec. GN be on the look, a GTO (or Cavalier/Grand Am if you want to call them that) might just blow your doors.

The movie, I thought, was great, clean fun entertainment. Only flaw……… GTO’s did not have radial T/A’s in the 70’s.

PEACE

I've wasted more time watching dumber things(F&F2). It wasn't too bad. It was sad to see a couple good actors acting badly.

I heard a rumor that the orange GTO is a sneak peak at the Judge re-issue. Thats why they showed so much detail on the rims, and extras.

What would a piece and love, free spirit, steal from the rich give to the poor, hippie be doing with a 68 GTO?

One more thing. I saw a nip slip at 9:44 when Hopper woke the chick up.
