Someone I was talking to recently (probably was in BG) said there was going to be 4 lanes at the drag strip.... so if one of the lanes got oiled down.... you just jump over to the lane beside it...

The pics only appear that there is 2 lanes.... like normal.....

Looks 1st class none-the-less.....

Wish it was in my back yard...

Nice pics... I was gonna take some new ones this past weekend, but didn't have the camera with me.

From the looks on Sunday they are even farther along then these pics show... :p

According to this press release charlottemotorspeedway press release

"Pouring of the 1,324-feet concrete racing surface is scheduled to begin on June 23. zMAX Dragway will be only the second drag strip that the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series visits where the entire quarter-mile is concrete and the only four-lane drag strip in the United States."

 That is so cool.

only four-lane drag strip

My understanding is that it will have the normal (2) lanes for running down the track, and have a return lane on each side next to the regular lanes. Not (4) lanes for running down the track.

Any chance of having a mini Turbo Buick meet at the new strip this fall?

Shane has mentioned wanting to put something together there on a larger scale... AKA TB.com Nationals.

In the past we've had smaller gatherings of 20-30 cars get together at either Mooresville or Farmington 1/8 mi. dragstrips. I have a feeling we'll be focusing our efforts on the "Zmax" strip this fall!!

That would be awesome. Hopefully a group of us SC guys can make it up that way. Charlotte is about the same distance for me as the Darlington track.
