Think we'll ever know for sure how many still exist? This is the computer age, surely every state has a database with all registered passenger cars with VIN #'s in it, right? You could filter out from there, right? Could give some kind of idea, right? Wish I knew what the hell I was talking about. :frown:

Well, it would be nice but individual vehicle registration is a privacy issue. If you could find out, then so could all the thieves. Just like drivers licenses; they are not for public information. If you could, then you could find all the hot chicks. That's the problem with the gov't: they know where all the hot cars and hot chicks are and they aren't telling! :D

That would be super hard to get any accurate count. I am amazed still as every once in a while I will find a "new" (to me) turbo regal around my home area. Every time I think I know where every single one is, I see another one somewhere. Hell on our trip to reynolds last week I know I saw 1 or 2 just sitting in a back yard rusting away:( I went to a BFE town about a month ago and saw one at a resturant clean as a pin. I know the guy isn't on any of the boards, hell that don't even have internet down there:D

*Guessing* I think there is still at least 15,000 or more cars running.

Ditto.

I never really seen anything out side of one single GN cruising around here until I went looking for one to buy. Then the next thing I knew I found people who has them but never drives them...they just stay locked up in some garage/storage. Then the other day I went to the 1/8 mile track, the second or third time since it opened and there was a GN racing. Then someone told a T-type runs there once and a while. Anyhow, with as many GN/Ttypes being stolen around the country, I would be amazed anyone could put together a list of running cars. Anything is possible but the liablilty of such a list would probaly scare most people off from doing it...exspecail trying to log down the GNX guys.

i know 4-5 unregistered gn and t's sitting in yards quietly rusting away. it would be impossible to get a count.
