The Vigilante 5 Disc Converter??

They are not perfect on stall speed but honestly once you get it you wont check it anyway. Its that much of a difference having a real converter over a D5. As for the single vs 5 disc its up to you. I personally would not want to risk a single disc locking up at WOT but as BOOST231 says it can be done. Street car=single disc Race car=5 disc and leaves nothing on the table to wish for. There are lots of opinions on this so dont take our word for it. Personal preference for the most part. HTH

Im more of a guy that could care less then the track but on the street I want something that is wicked fast without having to powerbrake it at a stop.I hope that my car is a mid 11 second car if I raced it but its all about the street for me with this car.

just order the darn thing and be finished. lol you can get a million different answers to this but there is probably a reason you were told about it..:biggrin: its prolly one of the best out there

i got to save a bit to get the 5 disc unit.Can't get a freakin job for about a month now.

I have had a few turbo Buicks with a Vigilante converters and some other cars also and I have always liked them. I have always gotten the 5 disc version and had good luck with them. One good thing about them is they come with one free restall so if you goals change(like they always do) and you want to go faster and need more stall all you have to do is send it back. My wife had a 95 5.0 Mustang convertible years ago that had a AOD and 2.73 gears and it was a slug. i installed a 3200 Vigilante converter in it and it picked up 7 tenths in the qaurter with no other mods! It was like night and day!

Remember I got 3.73 gear's in my Turbo Regal.Luckily I kept the old 3.42's and they are in the box waiting to be reinstalled at some point.I do however run the 28 Inch tall BFG Drag Radial's in the back.I feel I might need some Mickey thompson's with a good converter.

Actually im just getting fatter being at home.lol Just when I was going to just get the single disc I have to consider the 5 disc.

it was recomended that i get that one so i wouldnt have to mess with it again. i mean i can wake up one day and decide to drive to vegas so i want reliability but like to go fast.. i made it from okc to vegas in 12.5hours and back in 13 with a stop at the canyon.. i was flyin saw one hp the whole trip.
