Theft Deterrent Options

I am changing to a chip without anti-theft and am interested in kill switch or other options for keeping the car from walking away. I have a steadfast steering column cover, but I think I also want something else. Would like input on vendors, too.

When in doubt of an area's security, I make a quick dash for the rear of the car and unplug the fuel pump. I have to assume that most morons that enjoy theft won't figure it out in time before they panic and run away.

I only do that if I'm parking it in a ramp or somewhere I just don't like...which is rare

My Pitt-weiler sheds too much to sit in the car with keys so I use the mystery deterent from Kirban, Steering Colum Collar, the club, a keen eye and a a .45.

However, I'm considering a device from Ravelco. Talked to the main guy and he sent me pics of a car with it on. Completely unstealable unless the bad guys bring a flatbed. Tested in Mexico City and it was unstealable!!!

Not cheap (like $350) installed but I think it's worth it to keep your ride.

Had my 86 T-Type stolen back in 1994 after the paint and new weather-stripping. Oh yeah and after I had shipped to Korea so that I had cancelled the insurance on it.... Total Loss... I'm serious about security.

Killswitch on the reference pulse input on the ECM from the module.

Purple/white stripe wire.

Keep it where it can't be bumped by accident.

a pass key device, home made of course! Get a female weatherpack connector that has maybe 5 inputs, and two male connectors. Use all the same color wire and cut 2 of the main circuits to ecm, like fuel pump or crank ref, run the wire to the weatherpack and then use the male weatherpack to connect those circuits, you can use the fifth wire just as a decoy, of course put the thing somewhere not easily identifiable. Keep one of the "keys" in a safe location incase you lose the other. More info on GnTtype.org about this "poor mans pass key".
