Installing a 160 stat having problems getting the old 180 out, is there anything else there than that single bolt and small bracket?

try spraying some wd-40, and using channel locks to twist the housing first. It's no guarantee that the housing will come out undamaged. I disfigured mines taking it out. But alot of TR vendors like Posten have the billet housing that will replace it.

Put the hose back on the housing, tighten the clamp as hard as you can, and yank on the hose like theres no tomorrow. Worked for me... You'll probably fall on your @$$ like I did too. :D When that sucker popped off, I went flying backwards.

try twisting it and pulling @ the same time. i pulled like crazy for 10 mins then i twisted it and it popped right off. if you have trouble getting it on again put a little bit of vaseline around the O ring. i did and it slid right into place on the 1st try. other than the single bolt and bracket, no there is nothing else to take off to get the thermostat housing off. HTH:)
