Thermostat

Hey guys.

WHat effect does running no thermostat have as far as performance?

WHen the car is cold it runs a certain way right and if it never warms up it will be that way. Right??

ALso can running no thermostat actually make you car get hot because it is not giving it time for the fluid to pass through to cool it????

yes this makes sense and is 100% correct.. Have to slow the coolant for the rad to do its job..

I have seen some circle track guys not running a thermostat, they use a large washer and the hole in the middle slows the coolant down so the radiator can do its job.
I dont know if it would work on the street though, HTH

That will work, Larry. As long as it slows the flow down at higher rpm and let the rad take the heat off the coolant, its better then no stat..
