I, like a lot of you, grew up driving the "traditional" muscle cars. Mine was a GTO. I don't have that car anymore and want to get another. I am still in love with the old pontiacs with "real" pontiac power but I really respect the turbo powered buicks and TA's. Any advice on how to make the best decision? Maybe some other "older" guys(and gals) have had to make this choice? Also, can any vehicle that came with a 3.8 be upgraded with a turbo/intercooler(ie-84-85 buicks)? Thanks....

you can put a turbo 3.8 powerplant in a car that wasn't turbo before, but it's a lot of work. the turbo 3.8's need fuel supply and return lines, baffles in the tank, fuel pump, ecm, wiring harness, etc etc etc. There are a bunch of threads on the work involved. I'd recommend searching for a decent 86 or 87, or at the worst convert a hotair to 86/87 specs (or better). www.gnttype.org has a buyer's guide that will help you out a lot.

Super Chevy had one

In the November 03 issue of Super Chevy on the last page (136 ) there's a picture of a 66 Chevy II with a Buick Turbo motor with the 2004r behind it. Pretty cool to say this mag only does chevy stuff. Maybe you can find it on superchevy.web.com.

Once you go TURBO you never go back:D im serious too. Just do research and read alot of posts and ask alot of questions. gnttype.org is a very valueable resource.
