Hey folks,

I have always wanted an ATC since I was a small kid and still prefer them to quads. I have the opportunity to get a great deal on a very clean '85 Honda 350X later this year. Anyone have one and how do you like them compared to other models?

Hondas will run forever - the 350x is a good bike.

Let me know when you get it, soon I will be getting a new quad... we could hit the trails here in QC.

My brother has one! Its a fun trike to ride! They have a good amount of torque but the motors don't spin very high. Its a blast to sit back on the seat and ride wheelies on! I got rid of my training wheels along time ago and ride a 2003 YZ450F. :D

the 350X is awsome!! unfortunatly I just traded mine for a restoration on or new 1979 ATC 70, yes that correct a 70. why you ask because the wife could not start the 350X. I bought one new in 85 then I bought this last one a few years ago. these things are the wheelie kings, I never understood why they put a front tire in it, it always stays in the air.

I'm really excited about it. I will have to save up for several months, but the guy selling it to me is not planning to get rid of it unless I buy it so I have some time.

I wouldn't mind an ATC 70 for my wife and then my son when he gets older.

Turboindian, if you plan to pull the motor apart on that ATC 70 look into porting the head and maybe a 88cc stroker kit. I have a 1971 CT70H (Trail 70 with 4 speed and clutch). I finally put it back together after years of sitting around with a bent intake valve. Out of boredom I ported the both ports pretty good and found that the bike ran lean as hell when I put it back together. I ordered a 20mm carb from Hondatrailbikes.com and my bike is running amazing so far and still needs a little tuning. When it was stock hills were a challenge and washes were impossible. Now there is no problem and I top out at 45mph and that is gear limited. The other day my neighbor was outside and I opened it up in front of him. His jaw dropped when I chirped the tire into second and rode a wheelie through the whole gear.

Here's a pic of the carb:

I did a big bore kit. but now I need to replace the parts in the trans., everything is worn out.

Just out of curiosity, how come you didn't just pick up a 110cc motor for $600? I'm sure you could have swapped out the right hand trans case for the pull start.
