just saw the wrath incurred by the mere suggestion that the 700r4 is stronger than the 200r4. If this is true then the hard parts of the 200 must rockwell above the 700's in hardness because the 200's planets, drums, and input shaft is SMALLER than the 700's. The 200r4 is based on the 200 3 speed metric
released in 1978 for the newly down-sized GM lineup.
How can smaller parts be stronger than bigger ones?!
Hey, Im not letting my oe 200r go, it may get the $2,200.00 in hard parts one day and get reinstalled. But that is only if the gear split in the 700 is a real issue in the TR. Durability will NOT be the reason.
