Friday I drive up to Detroit MI to pick up my new turbo and some other items. On the way back, on I-75 crossing this huge bridge my 94 Blazer catches on fire. I have my wife and child on board too. Oil filter hose ruptured and sprayed oil all over the exhaust igniting a fire. Burnt most of everything under the hood. Luckily this guy that works for a fire extinguisher company passes by and stops. He backed right up to the truck and came out with 2 extinguishers to put the fire out. Flames were shooting about 10 feet above the truck. SO, there are good people left in this world!
Make a long story short, we had the trucked towed to a motel, stayed the night, rented a uhaul truck/trailer and hauled it back on Saturday. Truck is way too nice to just junk because of an engine fire. I plan on repairing it and driving it.
The picture.....This is today about 1 o'clock....Here I am cruising down I-75 and my transmission lets go. I just installed my new GT6776 turbo a couple days ago. Great turbo by the way. Pulls real hard over the 52 I had.
I took the trans out today and getting it fixed thursday. Should be up and running again by the weekend.
Just thought I would share my misfortunes with everyone. At the same time having bad luck I guess I've had some good luck as well. However, I am going to stay in the house for a while until everything cools down. When it rains it poors.
Stay tuned...
