Hey guys! so my 84 tr keeps dying on me. no codes are popping up on the scan master. it will run fine and then without warning, it starts to sputter and die. i let it sit for a few minutes, it starts back up, drive it a 1/4 to a mile, will sputter and die again. thermostat doesn't say its overheating. any thoughts? i replaced battery because one of the guys on here suggested it (and advance auto said it was bad.) alternator checked good on and off the car. replaced my maf because that seem to fix it for a bit....has this happened to anyone else? i have an 87 ecm, hot wire kit, new fuel pump, regulator, 60lb inj, 3" dp, ta-44(te) turbo....theres more, just can't remember it all right now...any feed back will be appreciated plus i need to tell my mechanic something! lol! Post your scanmaster readings at cold and hot idle.

I would swap out the coil module with a known good one. Check the ohms accreoss the coil pak as well-should be 11-13K. These are simple and just may identify the problem. Brad

it could be hotter...hate chasing ghosts!!! grrr! lol! i will have them check the coil pack. thanks guys!

IAC is not set correctly. If memory serves me it should be between 20-40 at idle. Brad

would that affect driving down the road? i have a tt chip.

so it was the fuel pump....my other pump was only 6mons old. weird.

apparently fuel pump was only part of the problem...
