Recently purchased a GN after a 10 year hiatus. Excited to be back.
1) Just noticed that my throttle body is about 1/8' off center to the plenum(see pic). Is this something that I should worry about? Do you think its possible to center it? It doesn't look like there is much room for adjustment. I was told that it is a PTE throttle body and plenum. It says Accufab right on it. Are PTE and Accufab the same or was the previous owner wrong?

2) there is a oil puddle inside the throttle body where the two meet. I cant imagine that this is good either. Where can that be coming from?
Thanks guys

I had a bad turbo seal causing oil to blow through the IC and then into the TB. Stopped after getting a rebuilt turbo cartridge from Bison on this forum.

I think the PCV is bad, I can blow through it. I've seen conflicting opinions on what to do with the PCV. Is the RJC PCV any good? I'm going to order their EGR Block off plate in the next day or so.

couldnt hurt to replace...its a pain in the ass though.

Donnie,
Can you please explain why it's a PITA to change a pvc valve ? Youv'e got me lost on this one. ?? Thanks Mike

Yeah, I did mine with the intake on. Its the champion intake so i had to take the intake to autozone to find a gromet that would work. Trying to push it in the gromet in that little space is a pain.. I had to put the tool that you use to pre oil the motor on the PCV valce and use a dead blow to tap it in...

I put the RJC check valve in line with the PCV hose and it stopped alot of oil blowing out of the valve covers etc.

It's a pain in the ass when the grommet breaks and falls into the engine. The car is dead until you can get a new grommet.

As far as that step, it'll take about 3 minutes with a hand held Dremel tool to fix that. Get a plenum gasket ahead of time or a gasket roll and a razor blade.

That little bit of oil is nothing if you think about the hundred of thousands of pounds of air that's went through that throttle body to end up with that little oil.

The engine was rebuilt a couple of years ago so I think the grommet is fine. I have had the PCV out and back in a couple of times already. I will install the RJC PCV in line

My bigger concern is that misalignment of the throttle body to the plenum. Do you think this hurts performance or should I not worry about it?

The TB may have been bored out a little or it's an aftermarket unit I can't tell, but it's common to just blend the opening of the doghouse with a dremel and sanding scrolls to match a gasket that is matched to the TB.
