Well, if I am figuring it right, I think it may be about time for the big mods.
I have a hot wired GS340, adj. fpr, 36's, MAF pipe w/ K&N, catback exhaust, trans cooler, SMC Alky, MAF translator plus, Scanmaster, boost, fuel press, water temp., & oil press. gauges, seat brace kit, air bags, & comp 980's.
I figure all I really have left is some tubular or boxed rear control arms.
As you can see, a lot of the mods above are preventative components for when the big mods go on later.
Is there anything else you guys can think of before I throw on a T63E, 9x11 converter, FM intercooler and some 57's?

The transmission still shifts fine (no shift kit as of yet), but would be nervous that with the above mods, it would soon take a dump.

Ross,

May wanna try porting the stock turbo, it was worth a solid 2 tenths on my 1st TR at the same boost level. Control arms are well worth the investment IMHO... I have a set of the HRPartsNStuff rear control arms on my T & am more than happy with 'em! It leaves nice & straight at 10+ lbs off the footbrake & feels a lot more stable on the street even with the drag shocks & no front sway bar.

If it was me, I'd would go with the above goodies followed by a good stock mount i/c & injectors before the bigger turbo. Then a tranny beef up and converter next & THEN the turbo.... :)

Hey dconner, just to clarify on porting the stock turbo, do you mean the bell or the entire thing or what??

how many miles are on that tranny of yours? is it stock? if so it's gonna take a dump on you if you plan on going faster than low 12's...if your tranny does decide to go...get it rebuilt for about $1000 without billet parts...if you want to replace the very crack-prone forward drum and the input shaft with billet pieces add another $750 to that total...then your tranny is virtually bullet-proof...

Doug. I hear ya. The control arms are definitely next.
I'm not really wanting to port the stock turbo. I know some gains can be had in doing so, but I have an oportunity to get my hands on a very low mileage T63E. It is the one off of my dad's car. I gave it to him and put his te-44 on my black car before I sold it. It might have 1000 miles on it. He is wanting to sell his car, so I am going to buy him a used 44 and take the T63E for myself.
I was thinking about a stock location stretch intercooler, but with the sales Precision has been having it seems one can get a FM for just a little bit extra.

I just don't want to risk having to buy twice.

This very expensive bump in the road has been in the back of my mind for 4 years now. I am not looking forward to it, but I know it is inevitable.

It is a stock tranny w/ 59,500 miles. Tranny cooler, but otherwise stock.
